The ‘Pascal Lecture’, a humanities course planned by the KACPTA (President Koo Jae-Yi), captured the hearts of members from the start. In the first ‘Pascal Lecture’ held on the 13th, Professor Hawoong Jeong of the Department of Physics at KAIST gave a passionate lecture under the theme of ‘Data and networks are the answer.’ The lecture lasted about an hour and a half from 7:30 to 9:00 am, and although it was a bit early, about 50 members gathered in the auditorium on the 6th floor of the KACPTA Hall to listen to the lecture. On this day, Professor Jeong Ha-woong started with the definition of complex systems, the numerous components that we commonly see around us, the network structure that is connected through complex interactions, and data science that helps us reinterpret the vast amount of information in big data. I explained it with a realistic example.
